Accordion Tag Book

Evening all,

tee hee, this started out as a trial run but soon became a full blown project!!

The instructions for making this style of book can be found in Alisa Golden's 'Expressive Handmade Books' if you are interested in having a go, and there may well be tutorials on Youtube!!??

Me being me I ended up adapting the instructions as I went along as I didn't have all the supplies that Alisa had used, this is half the fun for me to be honest, I love stretching my skills and imagination if I can!!

Anyhoo, here you go........

This was relatively quick and simple to make and I was delighted with how it turned out, especially for a first attempt!!

The supplies I used were as follows -

4 sheets of A4 card for the inner pages
1 recycled food box for the cover
Thick smooth cartridge paper for the tags
Snippets of ribbon from my stash
Self altered ring reinforcers
Acrylic paints, DI's and other various ink pads
Various stencils from my stash, and
Stamp credits go to Bo Bunny, Viva Decor and Andy Skinner.

Many thanks for popping by and leaving a comment if you feel you would like to, your time and thoughts mean a lot.

Journal page........

Afternoon all,

ha ha ha ha ha this is a page I truly now wish I had done on a canvas so that I could hang it on my wall!! Hey ho, what a good excuse to try it all out again ON A CANVAS tee hee!!

Here is the completed background, I love it as it is and will hopefully print off and use as a master sheet for other projects in the future........

I started by gluing down a load of coordinating patterned paper scraps leftover from other things. I then put a hot pink acrylic glaze over the top - wow, it was a bit much lol - this was then knocked back by scraping some white acrylic over the page using an old membership card. I scraped some more white acrylic through a Crafters Workshop stencil to add more interest.

I used worn lipstick and peacock feather DI's on a separate scrap of Daler Rowney paper - splodged onto my kitchen top and spritzed with water before plonking the paper on top tee hee!! The heart templates were free with a set on Simply Homemade yonks ago - so glad I kept them - these were drawn around onto the coloured paper and cut out, the edges were inked with DI also.  My favourite Viva Decor script stamp cmae out too for some added interest on the main hearts. There was still a scrap of coloured paper left so I punched out some flowers to add on too.

Before sticking all the bits down I chose to edge around the scraps of paper with some charcoal and blended this with a paper stub, lol I love doing this but it doesn't half get messy!!!!!!!!

As I said, I love the background as it is but after discussion with my gorgeous 5yr old daughter we came to the conclusion that some wording was needed. Out came some Personal Impressions stamps and VOILA..................

I think the words definitely help pull the page together more and they do help the colours pop,
what do you think????????
There are a few places I can journal on at a later date if I want to but I am happy with it as it is for now tee hee.

Many Thanks for popping by and leaving a comment if you feel you would like to, your time and thoughts mean a lot.

Craft Barn Alpha Challenge - Letter R

Evening all,

ha ha ha another late ish entry from me, school holidays and all I almost forgot!!!

All the details of how to play in the fab Craft Barn's alpha challenge can be found here, and if you fancy a peek at all the R entries please pop on over here.

IF YOU FIND THE SUBJECT OF DEATH OFFENSIVE IN ANY WAY PLEASE GO NO FURTHER

Hmm, the only R I could find in my dictionary to fit my Mythology theme was REAPER!!

My drawings were greatly inspired after perusing many offerings on Google images and the journaled mythology comes from many sources on Google (as well as my memory lol) so unsure how accurate the details are!!!!!!

Here you go........

The Rooster..............

Evening all,

ha ha ha those knickers came out again!!!!!! Washed of course!!

A flyer came through my door yesterday for a certain foreign supermarket chain and a photo of some metal garden ornaments sparked some inspiration to do this drawing in my journal........

Plenty of scope for some doodling and journaling at a later date but I wanted to share as I was so pleased with how he came out - not too bad for 15 mins snatched playtime if I may be so bold lol!!

Many thanks for popping by and leaving a comment if you feel you would like to, your time and input means a lot to me.

Crafty Individuals April Challenge - 'Spring Into Fashion'

Morning all,

lol still flippin freezing winds here, so frustrating as my littlies would love to go to the park!!!!!!!!

Anyhoo, while blog hopping a couple of evenings ago I spotted the post for the new months challenge over at Crafty Individuals and decided to have a go. My apologies for the poor photos but the light is terrible at the moment even though the sun is trying to break through the clouds!!!!!!!!

and a scan for a little more detail........

Ha ha ha, lots of shadows on the scan because the green lady is raised above the others!!

This started out from a tag I was using to use up odd bits of paint from other projects, this was then stamped with white pigment ink using CI - 053 for some 'textual texture'!!
Three ladies from CI - 323 were stamped onto card and coloured with promarkers, cut out and attached to the tag (one raised with foam stickers).
Papermania lace was coloured with DI's and added at the bottom and top of the tag.
The sentiment is my own and I have no idea where it came from in my head but I think it works?? This was stamped onto yellow card using a mini-alpha set from my stash, cut out and edged using DI and attached to the tag.

Lol so annoying as the pics don't properly show how vibrant the colours really are - hey ho, worse things happen at sea so they say!!

Many thanks for popping by and leaving a comment if you feel you would like too, your time and input means a lot to me.

Huge hugs
