Learn Something New.......Part 2........

Hi Everyone,

a quick post from me today to share some more pages from my mini journal. I'm praying my internet connection holds out long enough to let me finish ha ha ha.

Here goes........

I am loving this challenge and I hope it shows lol. My work may not be very refined or polished but it is all ME and I think that I am truly now learning to let go a little and just go with the flow a bit more with whatever I am doing.

Huge hugs to you all x

Learn something new................

Hi peeps,

I thought it was about time I started blogging some of my pages from my A6 'Learn Something New Everyday' book to save you all the agonies of a super long post later on ha ha ha!
Lol, I am not strictly following the lessons provided by Shimelle on her on-line course, I am just doing a page a day based on a feeling or random thought that has cropped up. Shimelle's lessons are fab but to be honest there is way too much brain work involved for my liking at the moment!!

I won't bore you with all the nitty gritty details of how I have done my pages as I would be here forever, needless to say I have used various stamps, collage images and paints/pens from my stash...............

I am soooooo enjoying doing this, it is really making me stop, think and take some time out in the evenings, lol always a bonus for me ha ha ha. Oooh, poor Max - I must have gotten some glue on his head when I stuck my sproggie picture down - gutted!!

Thanks for popping by and leaving a comment if you would like to.

Huge hugs x x x x

Altered Book - Lessons 13 + 15

Hi everyone,

what a fab day its been today, glorious sunshine and stunning blue skies. I hope the weather has been as kind to you all wherever you are?

The lovely Elizabeth over at Altered Book Lover asked us to come up with some windows and doors and also decorative page edges for our last 2 lessons. If you would like to see the wonderful tutorials for these lessons please hop on over here and here.

Due to some personal issues and time being limited I decided to combine the 2 lessons for 1 spread, lol other than the fact that I ended up with a big gap between starting my spread and finishing it!! In all honesty I am not feeling the love with this one and I think it was very much due to losing impetus half-way through, hey ho, you live and learn and I've definitely learnt something about myself so there is always a positive that can come out of a negative!!

Anyhoo, here you go............

I wanted a spread that initially hid the focal point, just showing a peep through the window, not sure it entirely works as I had in mind but I think it still conveys my original idea. I have always associated India with some of the most amazing colours you can find, i.e. the spices, paints and silks as shown above.
The decorative edge feels like a bit of a kop out to be honest but I think it looks ok, not brilliant by anymeans, but ok ha ha ha!! I'm soooooo glad I saved the ties for the candy canes from last christmas - I knew they would be useful for something!! Tee hee, got a bit heavy handed with one of the eyelets but managed to fix it with some of my trusty electrical tape.

Many thanks for popping by and leaving a comment if you feel you would like to.

Apologies................

Evening all,

my apologies to anyone who read my previous post and huge apologies to Gez also for any misleading information. My wording stank to be perfectly honest and will teach me to write a blog post while half asleep and in a hurry!!
Gez has not set an informal challenge as far as the 'learn something new everyday' exercise goes and was just encouraging people to consider doing a similar exercise informally of their own accord. Gez also signposted people to Shimelle's blog where the original inspirational course has been running for quite some time now.

Gez, I cannot apologise enough.

Big, more than slightly embarrassed, hugs x x x x

Learn Something New Every Day........

Evening all,

quick one from me tonight as I have lots of journals to make ha ha ha!!!!!!!! Arrrrrgggghhhhhh!!!!!!!!

The fabby Gez over at Dragonfly Dreams has set an informal 'Learn something new every day' challenge for the month of September and I decided that I would like to play too.  If you would like more details and/or fancy joining in please pop on over here.

Ha ha ha, I will no doubt fall behind many times over the next month so I will share my progress with you as and when I can.  I CAN share the book I made to do the challenge in though...............

The pages are made from various papers that I have swiped with my fave acrylics and spritzed with some dylusions sprays.

The cover is made from a thick sheet of mulberry paper which has again been spritzed with dylusions sprays. To protect the cover I have given it a good coat of PVA!!
The pages are stitched in in 2 signatures with a 5 hole pamphlet stitch using waxed linen thread. Lol, I didn't get a chance to take a pic of this before my camera died!! Apologies for the crappy pictures too, my youngest was trying to climb my legs at the time ha ha!!

Many thanks for popping by and leaving a comment if you feel you would like to.

Big hugs x x x x
