Craft Barn Alpha Challenge - Letter P

Morning All,

lovely day here in Cornwall, the sun is shining brightly but there's still a nasty cold wind out there!!

The current letter for the fab Alpha Challenge over at the Craft Barn is P, for a peek at all the entries please pop on over here.

Ha ha ha ha ha, you will probably be able to tell I've done this one in a hurry!!

Sticking to my mythological theme, P could only have been PEGASUS...........

Lol, the 'brave girl' pants went back on (washed first of course lmao) and I drew Pegasus before adding a very simple watercolour wash to the page, ha ha ha lesson well learned here as I did the wash on the other page later on and didn't get the colour intensity right - hey ho!!!!!

Some light gesso stamping round the edges with a Fiskars flourish set and a definition from memory and done..........

Many thanks for popping by and leaving a comment if you feel you would like to, your time and input means a lot.

I will try to get round to the other entries over the next couple of days hopefully, I can't wait to see what you have all done.

Huge hugs

Birthday card........

Evening all,

lol I'm still here - honest!! I haven't been blog hopping or posting much of late so apologies if I haven't visited  , other than a very brief flick through to see what everyone's up to!!!

I have been playing lots with various bits and pieces and will hopefully share when I'm happy with them!!

Tee hee, I had a lot of fun making a couple of presents for a very special lady for her birthday recently (those who know me will know who this is!!), lol always feels a little 'coals to Newcastle' though but I think she liked them.  I will post these another day as my little brain is about to give up on me!!!!!!!!

I will share the card I made for her - simple, effective and lots of fun to do........

An inky, splatty DI background done on some cardstock. This was then stamped with a vintage Lynne Perella set from Paperartsy. The edges were inked and the panel was mounted on to the base card. The sentiment comes from a Kanban set.

Happy crafting everyone and have a fab Easter.

Huge hugs

Late On Parade..........

Evening all,

lol late on parade as always me!!!!!! Here is the card I made for my mum for Mother's Day.

Clean and simple using a flower stamp from Stamping Bella, coloured with pro-markers, highlighted with glitter pens, cut out and stuck on a card base and edged with a glitter pen too.  The sentiment comes from a Kanban set. Seemples!!!!!!!!

Many thanks for popping by and leaving a comment if you feel you would like to. I very much appreciate your time and input.

Stab Bound Journal

Afternoon lovely bloggers,

today I would like to share a small journal I have made.  I have been wanting to have a go at this binding technique for ages and finally found a bit of time to do so........

Lol, apologies for most of the photos, it is so very dull here today!!

Products used - scrap mountboard, Docraft acrylic paint and metallic pen, Paperartsy Fresco paint, scrapbook letters, Viva Decor script stamp and Inca Gold, Bo Bunny texture stamp, gold embossing powder, scrap of mulberry paper, waxed linen thread, crackle accents and last but by no means least, Tando Creative's amazing flower and arrow minis.

The internal papers have been pre-decorated using acrylics and DI's, TCW stencils have been used in places.  Ha ha, decided this was the best option as stab bound books will not open completely flat so a little more difficult to decorate once bound together!!!!!!!!

Huge apologies too for the lack of explanation but I would be here all day ha ha ha!

I am going to enter this for the current Tando Creative challenge which is flowers this month, cheeky maybe I know but I have used some flowers??!!  If you fancy a peek at the challenge please pop on over here.

Many thanks for popping by and leaving a comment if you feel you would like to, so very much appreciated.

Huge hugs

Craft Barn Alpha Challenge - Letter M

Afternoon all,

tee hee, I am subjecting you to some of my own drawing today!!  Ha ha ha the letter M could only ever have been one character as far as my theme goes and that is MEDUSA!! Luckily for me she still falls under the Ma - Me twist that has been added to the current challenge letter.

If you fancy joining in you will find all the details here and for a peek at all the M entries so far please pop on over here.

Here you go........

and some scans for a little more detailed view........

A quick and simple painted, stenciled (The Crafters Workshop) and stamped (Claudine Hellmuth foam set) background. Medusa's head comes from Google images and has been coloured with promarkers and glitter pens. Lol she definitely needed a body though so I put my 'brave' pants on and drew the body for her!!!!

Again I found that the word was in the dictionary but the definition relates to a life-cycle phase of the jellyfish so I have added a definition of my own to fit my entry.

Many many thanks for popping by and leaving a comment if you feel you would like to.  I am hoping to catch up on my visits to the other challenge entries over the next couple of days, promise!!!!!!!!

Journal Play........

Evening all,

short and sweet from me today!! I just had to have a play with some new guilty pleasures that 'somehow' popped through my letter box!!!!!!!!

Here you go........

The background was done using Crafters Workshop stencils, distress inks and Paperartsy Fresco paint.
Stamp credits go to Paperartsy JOFY collection, Lost Coast Designs and Elusive Images.
Additional doodling and sentiment by myself.

Many thanks for popping by and leaving a comment if you feel you would like to.  Your time and thoughts mean so much to me.

Craft Barn Alpha Challenge - Letter H

Evening all,

lol it seems like an age since I last blogged! Half-term and life in general has left me with little time to craft lately but I have managed to squeeze this one in by the skin of my teeth!!

If you would like to see what this challenge is all about (thanks Craft Barn peeps, having so much fun with this) please pop on over here and for a peek at all the other H entries please pop on over here.

Tee hee, lots of artistic licence applied here!!  My chosen word is HERALD (messenger) and as HERMES was the 'herald' of the Gods I have managed to stick to my theme.

There are quite a few photos as I got a bit carried away!! Here you go................

I chose to do a simple 'painty' pocket page so that I could slot in some 'messages'.  The Hermes image was found via Google and is from a book called Manual of Mythology written by Alexander S. Murray, printed in 1895.

Muppet that I am, I forgot to mask off the original definition but it is still visible under the base glaze (outlined in black to be on the safe side lol)!!........

I made up a couple of tags........

Some mini envelopes (tee hee couldn't help myself with the addresses!!) and 'letters' using a Papermania capsule collection pad........

and finally altered a record card to hold an amazing quote I found........

The stamps used were from Paperartsy, see-d's, Tim Holtz, Andy Skinner and Kanban.
All other quotes were found on The Quote Garden.

Lol, getting all excited in anticipation of the next letter now!!

Many thanks for popping by and leaving a comment if you feel you would like to.  Your time and feedback is so gratefully received.

Huge huggles
