Craft Barn Alpha Challenge - C

HI there lovely bloggers,

here is my C page for the fab new Craft Barn challenge, please pop on over here for full details.  If you fancy a peek at all of the entries so far please pop on over here too.

Ha ha ha, kept it a bit more simple this time!! The illustration was found on a Google search but sadly there was no reference for the artist (if you recognise it please let me know so I can credit correctly??) and me being a total muppet went and lost the web address!!  The illustration has been 'painted' using distress inks and a water brush.
The background is an acrylic wash which was then stamped on using acrylic paint too, lol I love doing this!!  The stamps used are from a Little Big Tree set.
The dictionary definition does not match my entry word so I decided to adapt an encyclopedia definition and journal it onto my page on a gessoed panel!!!!!!!!

Anyhoo, here you go............

Ha ha ha ha ha, why on earth I decided to stamp a black seahorse on is beyond me really, love the stamp but think it unbalances the page a bit, hey ho!!

Many thanks for popping by and leaving a comment if you feel you would like to.

Huge hugs

Dawn x

Sorry it's been so long since I visited, but you may be aware that I can't see my own blog from my computer. Today, as I was heading to my friend Sally's to add my monthly calendar to my blog, I stopped to check my mail. I bet you can guess what I found when I opened my mailbox. YES, I'm sure by now you know I just received your package. Of course, I had to stop and open it before I came here to enter my post.

I was not only surprised by all the beautiful things you sent, including the wonderfully British stamp, the to-die-for doilies, the ribbon, the fabric, and the book on different teas. Of course, that was just the beginning, because when I unwrapped the two beautiful and very, very unique rocking horses, I nearly fell over. Then I took time to read the book on rocking horses and how to make them. So intriguing, and of course, so unique.

I can't wait to play with the other goodies you sent, too, including the butterflies from Tando. I must see how you use their pieces in your own art.

Again, I am not just grateful, I am overwhelmed by your kindness and generosity. Thank you again for being such a lovely and kind person. I'll write more as soon as I get my blog working again. But until then, all I can say is an unconditional and extremely grateful thank you!!

I love the seahorse too. I'd probably add one top right and one top left to make the eye move round the page. Gorgeous picture. BJ

Sorry I'm a bit late commenting - I'm behind everywhere to be honest!
Love that you've used acrylics for the stamping as well as the wash - the blue glows! Great image. I see Karen thinks it may be Waterhouse - I'm a huge fan of him and I'll try to remember to dig out my Waterhouse book and have a look as I don't recognise it.
Hugs to you too!
